Johnny Weissgerber is an accomplished artist, designer, fabricator and scenic painter, based in Washington DC. He is the resident set designer for Faction of Fools where his most recent credit “The Moors” has been nominated for a Helen Hayes for Outstanding Set Design. Other credits include: Missed Connections, Love Like Tuesday, A Commedia Romeo & Juliet 2024 Remount (Faction of Fools); His associate set design credits include: Comedy of Errors, Kiss Me Kate, A Christmas Carol, Much Ado About Nothing (Classic Theatre of Maryland). For 6 years, Johnny was an assistant paint charge at Signature Theatre- favorite credits include: Daphne’s Dive, Rent, Assassins, Blackbeard, Scottsboro Boys, Crazy For You, A Little Night Music, Titanic, among others. Johnny has painting credits at The Kennedy Center, Ford’s Theatre, Studio Theatre, and Virginia Stage Company, among others. Additionally, Johnny is an educator, who works for Anne Arundel County's, Apex Arts, a Performing and Visual Arts program as a Technical Director and Theatre Design Mentor. Johnny holds a BA in Theatre Performance with a minor in Musical Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College.
