The moors as a setting are well depicted in the elaborate set by Johnny Weissgerber. Rarely has the black box theater space at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop been so fully dressed, with the foreboding bricks of the moorish home of two sisters, looking out at the mountain crags out the back, a perfect setting
-This splendidly visual production offers some of the most gorgeously detailed and expressive design elements of the year, at times mesmerizingly cinematic.

-Johnny Weissgerber’s scenic design was magnificent, deconstructing this remote manor in the bleak English moorlands with an exceptional concept.

-This highly-detailed and ingeniously fluid scenic design deserved a standing ovation.

At first glance, the set is already eye-catching and impressive with colorful flyers and papers painting the walls and lockers of the stage. Then, throughout the show we see set pieces come out of every side of the set, creating multiple settings while still allowing the audience to use their imagination to fill in the gaps. It was so entertaining and enjoyable to watch everyone maneuver from scene to scene with a set that seemed rather static at first.

Hardly a day goes by without a brush in my hand.
